Last year was the first year that I actually got into Valentines Day. I think having a cute little sweetheart to put in a tutu had a hand in that :)
I enjoyed filling the house with pink, red and white and most of all I enjoyed doing sweet things for my family. You see, I have this problem with setting high expectations. I do this even on occasions I really don't care much about such as Valentines Day. It's like I'm waiting to get disappointed. So...having the focus taken off of me and what my hopes are is a good thing.
Anyways....I got way off topic.
All that to say, I enjoy this silly little holiday now.
I also enjoy decorating and crafting on an extremely low budget. Last year I was looking on etsy for some vintage Valentines Day cards and realized 1. I didn't wan't to pay the amount asked, 2. I could make them myself for pennies.
So here it is.
Under Images in Google do a search for Vintage Valentines Day Cards. Here are just a few examples of what it will pull up.
If you don't have an abundance of old books you need to go out and get some, their great for craft projects. Take the inside page that's blank and cut it out with a blade or knife. Chapter pages can be used as well, all you need is one side to be blank.
Before I print it on the old paper I test the size of the image on plain printer paper.
Feed the old book paper into your printer.
Print...... and there you have it.
If you can't find any old books at your local thrift shop I'm sure you could use manila paper or tea stain cardstock to make it look old.
just adorable!!!
